So you have a new digital camera. Now what? Tips to enjoy digital photography and safeguard holiday memories

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 30, 2004--An estimated 10 million digital cameras were sold nationwide this holiday season and experts agree new camera owners will take hundreds of photos each in the first weeks. Yet most consumers have no idea how to manage, properly save or get the most enjoyment out of these photos. Here are tips to organize and share digital photos from Wind-Up Labs, maker of HeyPix!, a new digital photo organizer and sharing service.

10 Tips to Enjoy Digital Photography

1. Think of your new purchase as more than a camera. Think beyond simply taking and printing photos.

These captivating photos are indeed of Tokyo’s G-Cans Project-- an underground water draining system to help prevent the overflow of major waterways during the wet typhoon season. Just seeing the sheer size and design of this construction through these photos, which almost look illustrated, is amazing. I can only imagine what construction and upkeep of such an immense and interesting system like this must be like. It's also a free tourist attraction, presumably only during the dry season

My Way - Spreading the Word

My Way - Spreading the Word: "It's hard to imagine, but Microsoft spent $300 million to promote its latest version of MSN. AOL Time Warner spent a similar amount to advertise its newest release.

As a site that is banner and pop-up free, My Way can't match these marketing budgets. (And, if we had $300 million...well, we'd probably be on an extended vacation someplace warm and tropical.) That's why we're counting on you - our most loyal and (might we add) best looking users - to help get the word out about My Way - the Web portal with NO banner ads and NO pop-ups. Who wouldn't want to hear about that?

Visit MyWay.com!

Here are some ideas:

* Say nice things about us to your friends and family...repeatedly, up until the point that it becomes annoying.

* Get on the rooftop and sing 'My Way' at the top of your lungs. Do this until the police show up.

* Cut and paste the My Way URL and send it in an email to everyone you know.

* Use our form (just because we don't spam people doesn't mean you can't), or add a My Way badge to your Web site.

So thanks for taking the time to tell your friends and family about My Way. It is the ultimate compliment. And we appreciate it."

monkey methods: In Review of Photo-Sharing Sites, Yahoo and Shutterfly top Flickr: "Interesting reviews of the top photo-sharing sites: HollandSentinel.com -Yahoo, Shutterfly tops for online photo sharing 01/16/05 via. The main discussion of Flickr consists of:

Flickr gets good marks for innovation.

Create a circle of friends from college, and any photo added by one can be automatically shared to all. Or make photos public and create groups on the fly -- for instance, bringing together people who've posted public photos tagged 'tsunami.'

Alas, all that innovation makes the service confusing to use. Power users with a lot of patience may enjoy giving Flickr a ride but my attention span is quite limited.

Pretty interesting comments, and I don't find them negative at all. Flickr is, at this point, driven by early adopters. That's why you see all the overwhelming buzz in the blogosphere talking about it, particularly fomented by their all-star board. Starting with this market of early adopters helps the Flickr team achieve early growth and develop an ecosystem of tools and knowledge.

The real test will be crossing the chasm and bringing general mainstream adoption... There, they will have to focus on embracing the needs of a particular mainstream audience, and develop something that gives them a strong foothold into the mainstream, non-geek market. Should be interesting to watch, especially if the geeks complain that Flickr is getting AOL'd :)"

Google, Inc. has just released Picasa 2, a new version of the free digital photo software it acquired last summer. New features in this version include CD burning for backups and gifts, new editing features and basic fixes, labels for organizing and stars for rating photos, the ability to add captions that are written to your files, and improved printing options. I probably won't be updating my review of Picasa right away, but Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Watch has a pretty detailed article comparing Picasa 2 and Photoshop Album 2: Google Picasa 2 Vs. How to spy on peoples security cameras!

Ok so it seems that if you search Google using a specific search string, it will return shit load of results of security cameras for everyone to view! Chances are, the people that own them don't know your doing it, but meh, its their fault for not securing them. So anyway, how to do it? Simply search Google for the following:

inurl:"ViewerFrame?Mode="

Or you can just click this to take you straight to Google

*UPDATE*
It seems that you can also search for more by searching for:

inurl:"MultiCameraFrame?Mode="

And you can click here to go straight to those results. This will then return a load of results, just click one of them to view the camera! You may notice the first lot don't work, its probably because they are all getting hammered from all the traffic, but the ones on pages 30 and above all seemed to work fine for me. You may also need to install some activex thing from Panasonic to view some of them, I did it and my computer is still working! So I guess its all good.

Thats it Have fun!
